Last year, we entered a team of brave superheroes in the very first Superhero Triathlon. The event was a huge success and so this year the Super Hero Series is back and better than ever.
Founded by Super Paralympian Sophie Warner, it’s “the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero!”
Cerebra is proud to announce we are once again supporting this epic triathlon as charity friends and will be Team Cerebra!
This year’s event is taking place on the 18th of August 2018 at Dorney Lake, Windsor. Participants can team up, grab a side kick or fly solo to compete in any of the four unique challenges.
Rhys and Anthony, who took part in the triathlon for us last year will once again be rising to the challenge! We’re looking for eager super heroes who want to join them on team Cerebra. The only requirement is that one person on your team must have a disability and you must have your own equipment to take part in the triathlon.
If you would like to find out any further information about the event or how you can join our team contact email@example.com.
On Saturday 19th August two very special Superheroes joined team Cerebra for the first ever Superhero Triathlon at Dorney Lake, Windsor.
The Superhero Tri is the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the everyday Superhero and their family and friends. It was also particularly exciting because it was the first ever Superhero Tri so our team didn’t know quite what to expect!
Returning to team Cerebra was triathlon veterans Rob and Poppy who have previously taken part in the Cardiff and Swansea Triathlons using equipment designed especially for Poppy by the Cerebra Innovation Centre.
Joining the team was Anthony, his son Rhys and family friend Kevin. Kevin has previously taken part in a number of “Tough Mudder” events but this was the first event of this kind that Anthony has participated in.
Anthony said: “Me and Kevin wanted to do something with Rhys not for him and that’s why we entered the Superhero Triathlon. We wanted to give Rhys an experience he has never had and will certainly remember.
Words cant describe how much gratitude we have for the support and generosity given to us by Cerebra. The team worked with us to give our son the biggest day of his life. Every step of the way Cerebra have shown nothing but enthusiasm and commitment to making it happen! An amazing charity with such amazing people. Massive thank you!”
They all did us proud and crossed the finish line with a mixture of excitement and relief!
So far, Rhys, Anthony and Kevin have raised over £1,000 for Cerebra which is incredible! The whole team has raised over £2,000 so thank you to everyone who has donated so far. You can donate to the group campaign here.
The Superhero Tri is the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the everyday Superhero and their family and friends.
The event will take place in Dorney Lake, Windsor on 19th August and promises to be a fun filled day with the chance to meet and take part alongside Paralympian and celebrity team captains.
We’re thrilled to be a charity partner for the event and we’re looking for people to join us on Team Cerebra. There are lots of different ways to take part, the only requirement is that one person on your team (or you if you choose to fly solo!) must have a disability:
Team up – unite with disabled and non-disabled friends and family to share the fun
Grab a sidekick – tow a teamate in the water and push or pull them around the course
Fly solo – for those who want to take on all the triathlon stages by themselves.
There are also three different distances that you can choose from:
Sprint – 150m swim, 3k cycle, 1k run
Half – 400m swim, 10k cycle, 2.5k run
Full – 750m swim, 20k cycle, 5k run
Father and daughter team, Rob and Poppy, have already signed up and have been chosen to take part in a special celebrity race. They’ll be partnered with Olympian Chris Jones and will be competing against the likes of Hannah Cockcroft and comedian and talk show host Adam Hills.
You can find out lots more about the event on the Superhero Series website, but if you’d like a chat about the different options and how we can help you to take part please just get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ve got people on hand to help out with the running, cycling or swimming legs and may also be able to supply some equipment – including a specially designed boat.
We’d love you to join us and show off your superpower. So please get in touch – it’s going to be awesome!
