Muscle and Joint Education
Physiotherapy exercises to strengthen the antagonists to spastic muscles and control athetoid joint motion. Sometimes used in conjunction with braces and daily living activities (Deaver and others) or preparations to reduce spasticity temporarily. Various clinical scales are used to measure the extent and character of the movement, such as the Tardieu assessment.
