Clinical and Educational Pychology: Counselling and Child Guidance, Other Counselling

Psychology tests and analyses developmental, behavioural and psychological progress in a child so that adjustments can be made in educational and family settings, and sometimes other treatment. Various forms of counselling exist to help deal with emotional difficulties involved in situations.

Psychotherapists usually belong to either the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP, tel: 020 7014 9955, www.psychotherapy.org.uk); or the British Psychoanalytical Council, (BPC, tel: 020 7267 3626, www.bcp.org.uk.
