Elliott's Story
Elliott's Story
This is Elliott and his family. Elliott has an acquired brain injury which has left him with extremely severe headaches and migraines that make him very poorly. He also has learning difficulties which may be connected to his inability to concentrate due to the pain he experiences much of the time. He loves computer games and TV, particularly Thomas the Tank Engine, Transformers, CBeeBies and Pokémon. Read more about Elliott’s story written by his mum, Sandy (middle).
 
Jack's Story
Jack's Story
This is Jack and his mum Tina. Jack is nine years old and is autistic. He also has some learning difficulties and hypotonia (weakness in his muscles). He loves trains, buses and planes, as well as dustbin lorries, automatic doors and lifts! Josh's Story
Josh's Story
This is Josh and his parents Julie and Darryl. Josh was born with a rare condition known as Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and is autistic with severe learning difficulties. He loves Fireman Sam, the Simpsons and playing with his toys. He also loves washing machines and alarms. Josh has benefited from Cerebra’s grant service and holiday scheme, amongst other things. Rob's Story
Rob's Story
This is Rob and his mum, Marion. Rob has a rare chromosome disorder which affects him in a variety of ways. He has severe learning difficulties, is mute and suffers from epilepsy. He loves cuddles, food, swimming, bath time and horse riding. Read more about Rob’s story, written by mum, Marion.
 
Jacob and family
Jacob's Story
This is Jacob and his family. Jacob is 9 years old and has Asperger’s syndrome. He loves Star Wars, taking pictures and drawing. When he first went to school he was very badly bullied by the other children and got behind in his work. He was also very anxious and found it very difficult to sleep, which made it very difficult for his parents. Jessica's Story
Jessica's Story
This is Jessica. Jessica has developmental delay and a currently undiagnosed condition. She has a good tactile sense and always likes to have toys she can handle. She loves music, singing and dancing (which also help her to concentrate) and jumping up and down on her trampoline. She really dislikes sitting still for too long and people who talk sternly! Her dad, Alistair, tells their story.
 
Max and mum, Carole
Max's Story
This is Max and his mum Carole. Max suffers from an Acquired Brain Injury. He loves swimming, playing on his trampoline, his Nintendo Wii and food, especially chocolate. Because of his injury he finds it difficult to concentrate much of the time and is very forgetful. He also has difficulties talking and acting appropriately, which strangers sometimes mistake for the behaviour of a naughty child. Read Max’s story, written by mum, Carole.
