Children's Awards 2010

awards trophy 2009As some of you may remember, last year we held our second Children’s Awards Ceremony. The event took place at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff and was a great success.

Here at Cerebra, we understand that often children with brain injuries and neurological conditions do not receive recognition for their achievements. We want to celebrate the amazing things our children do, so this year we are making the awards even bigger and better!!!

The event will be held at a central location in the UK during the October half-term (exact venue and date yet to be confirmed).

If you would like to nominate a member of your family, or someone you know, please complete our online form or download a form from the bottom of the page and send it back to us. The deadline date for nominations is 1st June 2010.

The categories are as follows:

Brilliant Brother or Sister

We know that having a brother or sister with a brain-related condition can be difficult in lots of ways. We also know that siblings often do lovely things for each other, and that’s not always easy!

Academic Achievement Award

We want to celebrate children’s educational achievements, whatever they may be.

Excellence in Sport Award

Getting physically active is often difficult for children with brain injuries. Has your child joined a team or gained a medal? Why not nominate them?

Achievement in the Arts

Artistic expression is a way for children to portray their view of the world. If you think your child is a talented writer, artist or musician, then please nominate them.

‘Funny Bones’ Award

Some children handle their difficult lives by making others laugh and keeping cheerful in the face of adversity. Let us know if you have a ‘funny bones’ in your household!

Courage Award

Many children with neurological conditions have to battle through very scary times. If a child you know has handled their situation with courage, then let us know.

Parent/Carer of the Year

We know that parents and carers do their very best for their children. Tell us why yours is the best.

Exceptional Professional

Families often come into contact with professionals, for example, those from health, educational and social services. Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile to help you out? Why not nominate them?

We will also be awarding an Outstanding Achievement Award to
one individual who could come from any of the above categories.
