This innovative approach to padded clothing was developed recently for a young man who requires some additional protection from time to time when he has a seizure. CIC wanted to make sure that the clothing was as breathable and lightweight as possible, whilst including some padded sections around the forearms, elbows, shoulders and lower legs. Many approaches were trialled including some ultra high tech shock absorbing materials from Dow Corning.

The design was finalised using a high quality tracksuit with great moisture wicking properties, then a series of specially shaped foam panels were stitched in. These were then covered with Airtex™ material to ensure maximum comfort and to wick sweat away from the skin.
