Supportive Trolley Seat

This trolley seat was a long development project for CIC, including a prototype to test the idea and the production of this great looking seat.

Cassidy is unable to support herself in a seated position, but has outgrown the reclining baby seats in supermarket trolleys.  Cassidy's mum, Dawn, asked if CIC could create something that she could take to the supermarket with her to help.

This trolley seat is the result of lots of experimenting with materials and sizes in order to make a seat that fits in most supermarket trolleys. It is made from a moulded plastic back and base for rigidity, and foam lining which wraps around and joins in front of Cassidy.  it also features some shoulder and lap straps to hold her in.  The seat was deliberately made to allow for growth.

Since Dawn and Cassidy have been using the seat, they have found that it actually has more than one use - it allows Cassidy to sit at the dinner table using the extra straps that we added to the back of the seat.
