CIC was contacted by the family of Joshua, a young man with Cerebral Palsy and right-side Hemiplegia. Due to his condition he sometimes has problems operating equipment that requires the use of his right hand.
Joshua is a budding young photographer who up until now has found it difficult to use his mum’s camera to take photos due to the location of the shutter button.
The electronic engineers in the innovation team looked for a suitable camera for Joshua but none were readily available so an existing digital camera was modified by adding a shutter button Joshua could use with his left hand. The camera now features a left and a right shutter button allowing him to use the camera any way he wishes.
We hope Joshua is enjoying his new camera and look forward to seeing his first left handed photos!
