He has published extensively on this subject.  His vision for Cerebra is that it should both develop its already excellent work supporting young people with neurological conditions and their families and carers and seek to achieve an international reputation for making available to parents, carers and healthcare professionals the results and implications of frontline neuroscience research.

Michael Imperato

Michael ImperatoMichael is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the country acting for children with disabilities.  He is one of our longest serving trustees and has special responsibility for governance.  Michael is proud of the progress Cerebra has made over the years and says; " Cerebra shares my desire to do the best for the children and young people Cerebra support.  Cerebra continues to be a charity providing both information and innovation. As a trustee it is my responsibility to ensure that the charity keeps moving forward in this way."

Richard Lumley

"I believe Cerebra offers crucial support to families at a time of need both with short term help and advice and supporting longer term research into brain related issues, which will hopefully benefit future generations. The breadth of support to families is quite unique and the charity tries to tailor its support to families based on their needs, whether it is offering sleep advice, providing financial assistance for needed specialist equipment via the grants scheme, developing specialist equipment, providing specialist holiday accomodation, etc. The charity is efficiently run with an emphasis on maximising the benefits it offers to those families in need".

David Beattie

David Beattie"I am proud to be a Trustee of Cerebra. The key element of the Charity for me relates to inclusion. Working with children and their families in a wide range of direct and indirect ways gives Cerebra a unique proposition. With a clear plan and a dedicated team, Cerebra are delivering on their Charitible Aims ensuring that the value of their combined activities is maximised."

Liz Fleming

Liz Fleming"I am a retired physiotherapist and during my career worked in Community Paediatrics in South Wales. I am the Chairman of the Charitable Activity Governance Sub Committee. I have special interest in children with a disability and their families and from my experience I know only too well how much support they need. Cerebra gives very valuable help to parents, in many practical ways and by boosting their morale and confidence. I have witnessed this at first hand at the Annual Awards Day by listening and talking to the children and their parents, and from reading the newsletters etc. The work it does is fantastic and I have a strong belief in the charity and its future."

Dr Lillemor Jernqvist PhD

Dr Lillemor Jernqvist"I was born in Sweden, but I have lived and worked in the UK since the mid- seventies. I am an educational psychologist and my main professional interests are cerebral palsy and conductive education. My most recent post was Director of the Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments and I retired in 2007, when I became a Trustee of Cerebra. Through my work I have learnt, not to set limits for human development and to value the emotive aspects of learning. I have witnessed the many issues facing families with a child with a disability and whilst a great deal of progress has been made in recent years much remains to be done. I am proud of my involvement with Cerebra and I look forward to supporting Cerebra in the ongoing developments supporting children and their families as well as research."
