Professor Sir Deian Hopkin

Professor Sir Deian Hopkin was the Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of London South Bank University from 2001 to 2009 in a career extending for 44 years in higher education. He has been a government adviser on educational policy and delivery, and serves as chairman, board member or patron with a number of organisations and charities.

Cara Readle

Cara Readle is a young Welsh actress who has Cerebral Palsy. She is best known for her role in The Story of Tracey Beaker, but has also had parts in Casualty and the film Zig Zag Love which she appeared in with Robert Carlyle.

Shannon Hall

Shannon Hall won the Courage Award from Cerebra in 2009 for the bravery she has shown in the face of incredible adversity - having had multiple operations to remove excess tissue from her brain that led to her losing a third of her vision she refuses to let anything get in the way of her living life to the full.

Chris Murphy

Chris has Cerebral Palsy and has been in and out of a wheelchair all his life. He is now 19 and plays football for Liverpool FC’s Respect4All team, as well as studying for BTECs in Drama and Performing Arts and ITC.  In 2009 he won the Outstanding Achievement award from Cerebra.

Anne Wafula Strike

Anne Wafula Strike is a Paralympic athlete, having competed in the 2004 Paralympics as the first East African wheelchair racer. She is also a mother, a trained teacher and motivational speaker.

Jordanne Whiley

Jordanne Whiley was Britain’s youngest ever national wheelchair singles champions in tennis at 14 in 2007. She made her debut in Beijing where she reached the quarter-finals of the doubles tournament with fellow British player Lucy Shuker. She is currently training for London 2012.

Kirsty Jones

Kirsty Jones is a three-time World Kite Surfing Champion from Carmarthenshire, Wales. She took to the water when she was just three years old, sailing dinghies with her dad on holiday in Pembrokeshire and at 16 discovered surfing and wind-surfing.

Joe Wells

Joe Wells is a writer and stand-up comedian. His first book, Touch and Go Joe, focused on his experiences with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) while his politically-driven stand-up act has won awards and been well received around the country.
